Former aide accused of secretly aiding Iraqi intelligence

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan charged 41 year old Susan Lindauer a former journalist and congressional aide with acting as an unregistered Iraqi Intelligence Service agent from 1999 to 2002 and with related financial dealings. The indictment says she delivered a letter claiming access to Saddam Hussein regime officials to influence U.S. policy, and mentions White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card as a distant cousin. Lindauer denies the charges saying she is an anti war activist and innocent while awaiting bond at a Baltimore halfway house pending psychiatric evaluation.
