Finney County Museum readies gallery upgrades and events
Finney County Historical Society secures an 8250 grant from WKCF to improve exhibits at the Finney County Museum in Garden City. Upgrades include a mammoth display perimeter, relocating the Santa Fe Trail exhibit, expanding the Front Door Gallery, and adding a welcome center. Exhibit hours remain 1 to 5 pm daily.

Lawrence geography professor and KU colleague debunk the flatness myth by applying geomorphometric analysis to the contiguous US. They ranked 50 states plus DC by flat, flatter and flattest, finding Kansas seventh while Florida tops the list with a high point of 345 feet. The study, in Geographical Review, uses 90-meter grid cells and elevation data to measure slope and horizon effects.
