New Eyes class invites Kansas exploration and local pride
Garden City holds a See Kansas with New Eyes session led by Kansas Sampler Foundation leaders Marci Penner and WenDee LaPlant. Eleven attendees, including Nancy Harness and Ruth Dunlap, describe favorite Kansas spots while exploring eight state elements and planning new travel routes to sample the Sunflower State. Penner details the Explorers Club mission to dispel the notion there is little to see in Kansas, contrasting tourists with explorers who seek hidden gems. The session follows the Kansas Sampler Festival’s statewide spirit and builds on Penner’s Kansas Guidebook for Explorers based on miles traveled and towns visited.
