Snow and rain recharge Kansas Equus Beds aquifer
Winter and spring moisture have boosted Kansas aquifers, especially the Equus Beds in south-central Kansas. Water levels rose over five feet at several wells, equating to about 21 billion gallons. Wichita injects up to 40 million gallons daily to raise levels while western areas lag due to geology, and drought conditions are not present statewide.

TOPEKA AP The State Board of Education released policy updates to ease licensing barriers without lowering quality. Changes remove the 2.5 college GPA requirement for out of state recruits and allow science teachers certified in one subject to switch after passing a test in a new area.
