In Kansas a light plane carrying two Catholic priests crashed south of Colwich but they escaped serious injury. Msgr Dennis Dougherty the pilot from Mulvane and Msgr Robert Planpied of Wichita were returning from Urvan Xeck farm when the craft clipped trees and crashed near Colwich Road north of U S 54. The demolished plane was registered to Ralph Dougherty of Mulvane.

Jesse L Tellus aged 68 died Monday at his Scott City home from an apparent heart attack. Born June 27, 1883 in York Nebraska he married LaZetta Anna Rose in Alma Nebraska in 1906. Survivors include three daughters two sons a sister and several relatives. Funeral services will be Friday 2 p m at First Baptist Church Scott City with burial in Scott County Cemetery. Spray Plane Pilot Injured in Lakin Crash
U S Air Force pilot John Wilkin 45 of Lincoln Nebraska was injured when his crop dusting plane struck a telephone pole and crashed 214 miles north and 4 miles east of Lakin. He was admitted to Kearny County Hospital with a broken leg and facial lacerations. The Deines Aero spray plane, hired temporarily, demolished after the crash during flood conditions.
