Brownie Day Camp Expands Hours at Finney County Fairgrounds
The Finney County Fairgrounds hosted a successful Brownie Day camp with 120 Brownies and Junior Girl Scouts from Garden City units, operating 4 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weather forced relocation from Jameson farm to the cottonwood site. Camp director Mrs. Bob Sneller led the program aided by Mrs. Eugene Atkinson and Mrs. Harold McGovern. Enrollment fees were 2.50 for Brownies and 3.00 for older Girl Scouts. Cadettes and Seniors joined 22 adult staff. overnight camping occurred for the older scouts while Brownies sheltered by day. Each day ended with a flag ceremony.
