Fire damages items in garage in Saturday blaze
Fire Saturday afternoon damaged the garage of Jack Snyder at 903 9th. Neighbors reported smoke about 4 p.m. The Snyder family was away. About $1,000 worth of merchandise stored in the garage, including Jewel Tea products of Mr. Snyder, was lost. Fire officials believe the blaze started in a trash barrel near the garage. Neighbors also saw some small boys near the garage earlier.
