Western Art Show captures prairie themes at Beef Empire Days
Artists from seven states showcased bronze cowboys and buffalos, Indian chiefs, sunflowers, and whimsical horses at the Professional Western Art Show in the Plaza Hotel atrium during Beef Empire Days. Thirteen artists exhibited works, with some pieces priced high and only light buyer traffic reported. Local participants Judy Mackey and Keith Mack observed slower sales, while others like Marilyn Frisbie and Judy Mackey awaited customers. The event, part of Garden City’s Beef Empire Days, featured veterans and newcomers, including Oklahoma artist Dwane Taylor and Texas artists M. Sue Hollis and Burl Washington.
