Devlin Baffled by Merion Open Course Conditions
Bruce Devlin, Aussie veteran and guest handicapper, predicts a tough U S Open at Merion. He cites narrow, oddly textured fairways and indifferent lies as key challenges for contenders led by Nicklaus Floyd Trevino and Watson, with possible upsets from Strange or Fergus. Sugar Ray Leonard forecasts a decisive title bid against Kalule, aiming for a KO in two if possible, brushing off a wax skull distraction at training.
