Local forum pushes Kansas to grow more produce
The Feeding Kansas Forum urged expanding fruit and vegetable production in Kansas through in home high tunnels and local farming. SCCC specialist David Coltrain showed how year round yields rise with high tunnels and cited a southwest Kansas grower earning 186000 annually from salad greens in a 1500 square foot tunnel.
