Hill Sees Merion Favorably Despite Hazletine Folly

Ardmore Pa AP Hill rates Merion a fair test at 6 344 yards short hitters have fairway access. He can’t recall Hazletine and won’t return, calling it a dead issue after 1970 Open remarks. He criticizes his own form and predicts a two over par 282 may win at Merion under warm, drying conditions. He maintains he has no regrets from a 13 year controversial career despite a year-long PGA probation.
