Newman University Honors Students at 2010 Convocation
Newman University honored students and leaders at the 2010 Academic Honors and Awards Convocation on April 22 on campus. Recipients included Erica Edmondson and Benjamin Luna for internships and teacher promises, Rosie Ibarra-Monarrez for Phi Alpha Theta, and multiple students named to Pi Gamma Mu Pi Lambda Theta. Garden City Community College journalism earned All Kansas and individual awards for Breakaway and staff, with Melissa Conway named Collegiate Journalist of the Year and many other GCCC journalists winning design and writing honors. The KU Academy of Student Pharmacists received a national $2,000 Project CHANCE award for Project PACE, while Washburn University inducted 48 Mortar Board seniors. Two Leo Burnett creatives reviewed FHSU design portfolios, with Caleb Swank earning a Leo B Award and $200.

Oklahoma State spring honor rolls include four 0 GPA students
The 2010 spring honor rolls for Oklahoma State University list 4074 students named, including 1481 with a 4.0 GPA on the President's Honor Roll. Local Dean's Honor Roll members include Leslie Allison Schneer of Garden City and Jessica Lea Swan of Johnson City, while Ashley Sarchet of Hugoton and Katelyn Jessica Patterson of Sublette appear on the President's Honor Roll. Kansas State's Pinnacle Honor Society inducted over 65 nontraditional students May 5 at the Honors and Awards Reception. member criteria include a 3.0 GPA, junior status and leadership.
