Love of the job drives fourth generation cowboy at Brookover
Travis Austin, 25, of Lakin, works as a feedyard cowboy at Brookover Ranch Feedyard, riding Armistead and managing cattle from 4:30 a.m. Austin has held seven feedyard jobs since 16, plans feedlot management, and represents a family tradition in the cattle industry. The Beef Empire Days feature highlighted cowboys and cowgirls in ranch work, pens, and travel between rodeos as dust swirled in the Brookover yard.
