New Ag Agent Named for Finney County

Danny Trayer was named agriculture agent for Finney County and will start July 1, succeeding Oscar Norby, now district agriculture extension agent of northwest Kansas. The appointment was made by the Finney County extension board and the Kansas State College extension staff. Trayer, a K State graduate, has served as ag agent in Hedgman County for six years. The Norby family will move to Manhattan where he will have a central office for a district including 20 North West Kansas counties. J. Floyd Breeding introduced a two price support bill in the House advocating parity for wheat. The plan would let the Agriculture Department set production limits in bushels, not acreage, and provide full parity for wheat used domestically and exported at world market levels. The bill has strong support in Congress and similar measures are being prepared in the current session.
