Bush No 1 pick by Padres thrills home crowd
New York AP reports Matt Bush, a Mission Bay HS shortstop, was chosen No 1 by the San Diego Padres, the first high school shortstop to go first since 1993. The deal likely includes a $3.15 million signing bonus, with Bush aiming to prove he belongs in the majors within a couple of years.
