Beef Empire Days rodeo opens with luck in the draw
Cowboys and cowgirls at Finney County Fairgrounds chase wins in the Beef Empire Days PRCA Rodeo amid luck of the draw. Rance Bray led saddle bronc riding with Honky Tonk Man scoring 80, while Danell Tipton and Josh Johnson each posted 86s in bull riding. Calf ropers faced miscues but Bobby Harter led the average with 18.3 seconds total. Local rider Shelly Meier placed in breakaway calf roping and praised competing at home. Additional winners included Mouton in bare back and Duvall in steer wrestling as events unfold across go rounds and averages.
