Dairy price support plan eyed for veto by Reagan
Agriculture Secretary John Block warned the House dairy price support plan at 75 percent of parity could trigger a presidential veto due to rising government stockpiles. He noted the proposal would drain funds from other commodities and clash with Reagan’s budget targets. Rep. Dan Glickman criticized the plan as unsustainable while Rep. Thomas Foley signaled it would be revisited this summer.
