Potential Suez Block Could Delay Indian Food Shipments

AP reports John A. Schnittker, no. 2 in the U S Department of Agriculture, warned that if the Suez Canal closes due to the Israeli Arab war, food shipments to hungry Indians could be delayed. He noted eight to nine weeks transit from the Gulf of Mexico to India and said Geneva tariff talks may lift grain exports toward 10 billion dollars, with a possible 10 to 25 cent rise in world wheat prices.
