Molybdenum Head Denies Big Windfall Claim
Industrialist Arthur H. Bunker told a Senate Armed Services subcommittee that Climax Molybdenum Co. did not gain a windfall from canceling a molybdenum contract for the defense stockpile. Sen. Stuart Symington criticized stockpile practices as mismanaged. Bunker, dealing with personal tragedy after his daughter Daphne was murdered, said Morgan did not advise the government on the cancellation. The GSA accepted a 1.2 million dollar penalty for cancelling the contract instead of 4.5 million.
