Towa clergy group calls for ban on gay marriage
A coalition of Iowa conservative ministers delivered a petition to the Statehouse steps urging candidates for statewide office to oppose gay marriage and back a voter referendum to overturn the 2009 Iowa Supreme Court ruling. The effort, signed by 834 ministers and linked groups, aims to pressure lawmakers ahead of the June 8 primaries, with governor candidates varying on enforcement.
