Prostate Cancer Study in Scott County Hits Roadblocks
A two year study led by Catima Potter on prostate cancer in Scott County Kansas details 58 identified cases from 1990 to 2002 with only 31 participants. Researchers found no strong links to tobacco alcohol or farming chemicals while genetics emerged as a likely factor. The project funded by the Kansas Masonic Foundation and KU Medical Center aims to guide larger rural cancer research.
