Acevedo Upsets Lee For State 200 Title In Thrilling Finish
Acevedo surged past Lee by .03 seconds at the line to claim the state 200 title in a dramatic upset. Lee, defending champion in the 200, 400, and high jump, had not lost all season before Acevedo’s first-year triumph. Families watched as siblings provided motivation, while teammates celebrated a team championship built on strong efforts from Peters and Bruce in field events and Holloway anchoring relays.
