Weather delays Kansas wheat harvest this year
Cool wet weather pushes Kansas harvest back from early June to mid June with Kiowa often the opener. Frost, rain, rust and army worms hinder yields while some western counties show promise. Flooding and two 100 year flood events stress crops, with rail cars already moving in anticipation of an improved western harvest.
