LaPolice launches independent bid for 1st District seat
Alan LaPolice, Clyde, announced from Ad Astra Books and Coffees House in Salina his plan to file as an independent for Kansas 1st District. He collected about 8,000 petition signatures, seeks 5,000 valid to place his name on the November ballot, and expects 5 to 10 days for state verification. LaPolice, a Gulf War veteran and former teacher and administrator, says he runs to represent all voters and reject party shifts and xenophobia while promoting limited government and strong defense. He contrasts with incumbent Tim Huelskamp and challenger Roger Marshall, noting independent voters want a positive message rather than party attacks.
