Rainy weekend brings scattered relief across southwest Kansas
Heavy weekend rain fell in portions of southwest Kansas with Garden City missing the biggest thundershowers. Rain totals varied from tenth to nearly two inches in spots, with gusty winds and hail reported in several counties but few confirmed damages. Forecasters said a cold front would limit rain next days as temperatures climb toward 105. Local assessors noted no hail claims logged as of 11 a.m. today.
