Detroit bar owner shooting sparks west side violence
An 18 year old black teen, Obie Wynn, died from head wounds after being shot by a white bar owner who found him tampering with a car in Detroit. Overnight rioting escalated with tear gas, rocks, and fires as 500 to 700 officers patrolled Livernois Fenkell area. Police detained 36 people for property destruction. injuries included a cop hit by a brick and a hospital ER filled with melee victims.
