State moves toward selling Kansas Bioscience Authority assets
Kansas lawmakers voted to merge the Kansas Bioscience Authority with the Kansas Department of Commerce to enable asset sales. Proceeds beyond 25 million would fund added school finance spending to satisfy a Supreme Court order, with a fail-safe from an extraordinary needs fund if the sale falls short. Secretaries say bids could come within months and a year-end sale is hoped.
