Roberts revises TV ad after Democratic complaint in Kansas
Democrats’ complaint prompted Republican Sen. Pat Roberts to tweak a 30 second ad but not drop a theme. The stretch of edits followed concerns about Stand by Your Ad compliance raised by Mike Gaughan and the Kansas Democratic Party. Slattery aides say Roberts’ ads may widen the gap. Slattery leads the Senate race and faces Lee Jones in the primary. The Roberts campaign says the ad truthfully portrays Slattery as aligned with special interests and plans new ads soon.
