Prominent Ranch Business Faces Sale After Legal Losses
Sid Warner and partners face a collection of lawsuits in Gray County as Warner Ranches and related ventures risk sale to cover equity losses. Tax concerns loom, notably capital gains owed after land sales, with Wells Fargo loan terms from 1998 and 2000 prompting a seven million dollar payoff. Despite turmoil, Warner vows to remain in Cimarron with community backing and no plan to leave. The sale affects 38 laid off workers but local officials say property tax remains taxed. The Associated Press contributed.
