Kansas law prompts Mennonites to rethink draft data sharing
Hutchinson AP reports that a new Kansas driver license rule automatically forwards 16 to 25 year olds personal data to the Selective Service. Mennonites, historically conscientious objectors, fear loss of religious freedom as the law pushes toward mandatory registration and could restrict access to federal aid and college aid for nonregistrants. OT: Ostlund cites potential penalties, while church leaders seek understanding from lawmakers amid national security concerns.
