East London Transformed by Olympics Brightens Historic Quarter
East London, long famed for slums and pollution, is undergoing massive Olympic driven redevelopment in Stratford and surrounding areas. New stadiums, a shopping mall, green spaces, and upgraded riverbanks reshape Brick Lane Shoreditch and Dalston. Improved Tube links and a Javelin Shuttle connect Stratford to central London. Pedestrian and cycle routes along the canals and River Lea are emphasized to boost visitor access.
