Community groups hold winter picnic and club events
Southwest Community Royal Neighbors of America Camp 163 met January 17 at Alberta Mouser’s home for a winter picnic. Six members discussed New Year resolutions. Vera Lou Adam won the hostess gift as the group handled 98 sick calls and enjoyed homemade ice cream. The next meeting is February 15 at the Senior Center. Glenn Cleveland won high in three tables of Senior Center pinochle with Leonard Yardley second and Gertrude Evans third. Krist Carr given devotions, Irene Wentling birthday honoree, MaNon Evans welcomed as a new member. next month a dinner out in Montezuma. The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club featured Howell movement January 24 with three slams and 16 games split between suit and no trump. May Craig and Les Cline won first. Kempton and Klotz second. Kempton and Klotz led with 70 percent in a 70 percent game. Virginia Enslow and Lilia Shearmire were second. Regular bridge sessions scheduled at the Senior Center with partners needed.
