Snow blanketed southwest Kansas with 4 to 11 inches in places and drift issues. Counties from Hamilton to Ingalls reported several inches while schools in Cimarron Ensign, Copeland, Deerfield, Garden City, Holcomb, Hugoton, Ingalls, Moscow, Montezuma, Satanta, Syracuse, Stanton County, Sublette, and Ulysses canceled classes or delayed. Lakin and Scott City operated two hours late as forecasts call for partly cloudy Friday night and the weekend turning milder with scattered precipitations.

Garden City man arrested in robbery case
Henry Louis Scott, 22, of 1217 W Campbell St Apt 1, faces aggravated robbery aggravated kidnapping aggravated assault criminal damage and two counts of felony obstruction after a Food Mart No 3 robbery at 1505 W Buffalo Jones Ave. Police pursued him after a clerk was struck and threatened, a handgun fired into the floor, and a monitor and cash stolen. the clerk received on scene care with no serious injuries.
