Student convicted of killing counselor in Springfield
An 18 year old student was found guilty of murder for stabbing Theodore Brown eight times in a 2001 classroom fight after Brown told him to remove his hood. Corey Ramos faces automatic life with parole possible after 15 years. Brown, a Pentecostal minister, died minutes after limping to the nurse. Defense argued provocation but court rejected self defense. An ecology teacher testified Ramos struck first.
