Walk Kansas promotes activity with eight week plan
An eight week Kansas State Extension program starts March 15 to encourage activity and health. Teams of six, led by a captain, aim for 150 minutes per person per week totaling about 423 miles, the distance across Kansas. Registration via county offices or the Walk Kansas website. goals can be increased to 846 or 1200 miles. Activities can be home, gym, or neighborhood. 10 minute minimum, log minutes weekly. The theme emphasizes posture and strength training, with cardio health benefits highlighted.
