Blind chair caner of Independence keeps craft alive
Stephen Revelle Lee, nearly 90 and legally blind, works from his basement shop to reweave chair seats in a craft once called a blind trade. From a cluttered room in a brick house, he uses simple tools to restore fine dining chairs while courted by customers from multiple states. Two assistants help, and Lee recalls beginning at age 11, proving decades of mastery in a fading art.

Fleetwood Mac Concert Cut Short by Band Leader’s Illness
Patrick Murphy recalls attending a Fleetwood Mac show in Lincoln with his daughter Claire. Mick Fleetwood fell ill with the flu backstage about an hour into the performance, leading to an abrupt ending after the band huddled and a backup drummer performed one song. Murphy notes the night was not ruined and cherished time with his daughter as they discuss future concerts. Fleetwood later announced the flu as the cause.
