Lakin man injured in two-vehicle crash in Hodgeman County
A 44 year old Lakin man, Robert E. Douglas, was injured in a two vehicle crash at the Kansas 156 and US 283 intersection in Jetmore. Jurcak of Metamora Michigan and four passengers were also injured and treated at Hodgeman County Medical Center. Douglas was not wearing a seat belt.

Fire damages Garden City home in double blaze
A north Garden City residence at 3413 N VFW Road burned Friday afternoon then reignited Friday night, with firefighters battling the two fires for about 45 minutes the second flare up likely from the first. No injuries, cause undetermined but accidental. Linda Adams, owner and local church organist, watched as crews sought to prevent further damage.
