Garden City Airport posts 14 percent rise in 2006 passengers
Garden City Regional Airport saw about a 14 percent increase in total passengers in 2006 from 2005, reaching 11 587 including charter flights and air taxis. Officials credit stronger consumer confidence and local advertising, noting Denver International's snow shutdowns amplified ripple effects. If growth continues at 15 to 20 percent, 13 000 to 14 000 passengers could be reached in 2007.
