Jennie Barker marks 60th with time capsule memories

Cammie Miller, now a stay at home mother, joined former students and teachers to celebrate Jennie Barker Elementary School’s 60th anniversary. They opened a 1996 time capsule containing letters and memorabilia as part of a event recounting the school’s history and its namesake Jennie Barker.

Kansas students benefit from tax credit scholarship program

About 150 Kansas students are eligible for a new tax credit scholarship program that funds private school tuition for low income students at Title I priority schools. Of these, about half received scholarships this year, with 18 in Wichita and 32 in Kansas City Kansas.
