Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau board and executive director Lynn Schoonover parted ways after a 45 minute executive session. Amro Samy, named board chairman, stated the board will seek a new director. Schoonover did not comment.
Finney County Convention and Visitors Bureau members voted to renew efforts to resolve the bed tax issue with the Finney County Economic Development Corp. The plan begins with a review of the CVB operating budget as discussions continue on future, non-budgeted additions.
An AP GfK poll finds 53 percent expect a major economic crisis if the debt limit is not extended and the U.S. defaults, with 27 percent seeing some crisis and 17 percent dismissing danger. Republicans seek spending cuts with any extension, while talks with Obama continue.
