Kansas economy expected to grow slowly in 2012
A Wichita State University forecast shows Kansas will gain about 13,010 jobs for a 1 percent employment rise in 2012, with Wichita adding roughly 1,785 new positions. The outlook cites euro-zone weakness, U.S. uncertainty, and Boeing’s planned closure as dampening factors, while farmers stabilize the economy and manufacturing leads a gradual rebound.
