Aging veteran finds rhythm in STEPS fitness class
Richard De La Rosa, a 1960s Vietnam brown water sailor now 65, stays active at Finney County Senior Center. In the STEPS program led by Kathy Irvin, participants—many former athletes—move to Billy Ray Cyrus while strengthening arms and legs through rhythmic, supervised sessions. STEPS runs seven weeks on, one week off, three days weekly, and has operated for three years to promote fitness and strength.
