Man Held Woman in West Garden City Apartment
A 20 year old man Jose Ysais was arrested Monday night for confining his girlfriend in the west Garden City apartment for about 22 hours. The victim escaped from 11 p.m. Saturday to 8:45 p.m. Monday, after being struck and forced to have sex during an argument over a past relationship. She called police from a neighbor’s home. Ysais was taken into custody at the residence. He faces charges of aggravated holding against will domestic battery and reported incident. The victim was treated at St Catherine Hospital and released.

Convicted killer Victor Romero sentencing delayed to Jan 30
Victor Romero, 43, convicted in November of second degree murder and related charges for the April 16 shooting death of Jose Perez Tafolla, has sentencing postponed to 11 a.m. Wednesday January 30.
