Windsor Hotel plan narrowly approved by Alliance

Finney County Preservation Alliance board voted 5-4 to move forward with GC Windsor Developers plan to convert the Windsor Hotel into a mixed use property with 23 senior apartments, pending senior housing tax credits by Feb 3. If credits fail, ownership stays with the Alliance.

Back From Break Students Return to School in Week Shortened

After a longer winter recess, USD 457 and Holcomb USD 363 students resume classes. Snow caused Dec 19 20 closures delaying finals and forcing make up exams. Garden City High School principal James Mireles says grades can be raised to meet semester school standards. Finals must be completed by midweek and the two week semester makeup runs Jan 9 to Jan 19.

Boeing to close Wichita plant amid defense cuts
