Long time Garden City resident and businessman Tony Mesa filed to run for one of three city commission seats. Born in Mexico and moving to Garden City in 1920, Mesa owns the Trail Inn Motel and La Mesa Grill, serves on local boards, and says he would represent working class citizens. The March 4 primary narrows the field to six competitors for three seats with the general election on April 1. Filing deadline is noon Tuesday.
