Area sixth graders join GCCC music clinic and honor band
The program invites budding musicians from Ashland to Garden City districts to participate in a student band built by need and teacher input. The event occurs in the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building with a standing room audience as Archie Oliver’s painting exhibit opens in Mercer Gallery. Saunders, a versatile composer and educator, oversees PSU music courses and has earned national recognition including the Ruth Friscoe Prize and a commissioned composer designation.
