Kobach cites wider election fraud as bill advances
Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach tells lawmakers that election fraud is broader than previously believed and presents 59 reports affecting 221 ballots since 1997. He argues the figure undercounts actual fraud while promoting a photo ID requirement and proof of citizenship for first time voters. Critics warn the measure could suppress minority turnout and hinder registration drives, noting witnesses were predominantly white.
