Bernie’s Book Bank fuels literacy in Chicago youths
Brian Floriani built Bernie's Book Bank from a garage to a major literacy charity delivering over seven million books to at risk children in Chicago. The effort began in 2009 with donated children's books and a mission to provide 12 titles yearly to every child from birth through sixth grade, spanning WIC centers and schools like Rowe. The program partners with publishers, volunteers, and corporations, expanding from local aid toward a potential nationwide resource to end illiteracy among underserved youths.
