On Sunday between 9 30 and 10 30 p m an unknown suspect scratched a vehicle with a sharp object at Wal Mart located at 3101 East Kansas Avenue with estimated damage of 800 dollars.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports Carlos T. Medina 47 and passenger Gilberto Quella Perez 54 died when Medina lost control of a 2000 Ford Explorer on snow packed US 54 two miles west of Liberal. Perez wore a seat belt. Medina did not. Police later linked a separate assault case to Louis Gomez and a follow up arrest.

Garden City police arrested Louis Gomez age 49 and Rocky Gomez age 27 along with Frankie Garcia age 19 after a domestic disturbance at 1 08 a m Christmas morning in the 400 block of West Mary Street.
