Windsor Hotel proposal eyed for senior living complex in Garden City
Advocates in Garden City weigh a $10 to $14 million plan from Vogel Properties of Kansas City to convert the Windsor Hotel built in 1887 into 23 apartments on upper floors plus 9,000 square feet of retail or restaurant space and 6,000 square feet of office space on the ground floor. The plan, backed by the Finney County Preservation Alliance, includes historical displays and a community meeting area, with developers touring the landmark and aiming to restore the Main Street site. The formal offer arrived in November after a 2019 trip by Ross Vogel and Leadership Kansas exposure.
